St. Paul, MN - Thousands of pro-life Minnesotans gathered at the Minnesota State Capitol on Wednesday, 1/22/2020 for the March for Life. The annual event marks the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's 1973 Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions, which stripped laws protecting unborn children nationwide.

No opposition was visibly present. It was an incredibly peaceful, family event. Christian families traveled from all over the state to attend. The weather included gray, cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-thirties. For an outdoor event in January, it was actually a pretty decent day.

Several politicians showed up to speak and snag a photo op. Among them were republicans Rep. Pete Stauber, Sen. Paul Gazelka and Rep. Eric Lucero.

President Trump declared Jan. 22, 2020, National Sanctity of Human Life Day. In a proclamation statement released by the White House, President Trump said,

"Today, I call on the Congress to join me in protecting and defending the dignity of every human life, including those not yet born. I call on the American people to continue to care for women in unexpected pregnancies and to support adoption and foster care in a more meaningful way, so every child can have a loving home. And finally, I ask every citizen of this great Nation to listen to the sound of silence caused by a generation lost to us, and then to raise their voices for all affected by abortion, both seen and unseen."

Local Christian vocalists, The Preacher's Daughters, performed a few songs during the event. They sang a gorgeous rendition of Amazing Grace and the whole crowd sang along. It was patriotic and heartwarming.
