Minnesota Patriots Defend the Pledge of Allegiance
Monday night, St. Louis Park City Council was held accountable for voting to remove the Pledge of Allegiance from their meetings.
St. Louis Park, MN - Last month, St. Louis Park City Council unanimously voted to remove the Pledge of Allegiance from their meetings in what was described as "an effort to create a more welcoming environment to a diverse community". They thought they could get away with it. They were wrong.
Minnesotans all over the state were shocked and outraged by such blatant disregard for the American flag and those that fought and died for it. The 5-0 vote happened in a matter of seconds with no discussion or disagreement whatsoever. Video of the vote circulated on social media, gaining national interest and negative attention. Even President Trump has taken notice.
"Outrage is growing in the Great State of Minnesota where our Patriots are now having to fight for the right to say the Pledge of Allegiance. I will be fighting with you!" -President Trump via Twitter
It is no surprise that St. Louis Park just so happens to be in Minnesota's 5th Congressional district, which is represented by anti-American Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
MoreVets and Patriots for the Pledge stepped up and organized a rally to defend the Pledge of Allegiance and honor the American flag at Monday's St. Louis Park City Council study session. Several live videos were posted on social media by patriots who attended. According to one attendee, approximately 80 patriots showed up. They peacefully rallied, waving American flags and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance aloud numerous times. It wasn't clear if there was anyone in favor of removing the pledge in attendance other than those on the council. The meeting was full of dramatic outbursts from a passionate crowd that was clearly upset by the sheer lack of respect for our beloved flag, the pledge and all it stands for.
We will update when full video of the St. Louis Park City Council study session and other details become available.
