Bonfire Wood Fire Cooking Forced to Permanently Closes All Five MN Locations
Updated: Jul 1
Struggling amid nearly two months of COVID-19 shutdowns, Bonfire Wood Fire Cooking is forced to close permanently.
Minnesota -Yet another business destroyed by excessive COVID-19 shutdowns in Minnesota thanks to Gov. Tim Walz. Bonfire Wood Fire Cooking had locations in Eagan, Savage, Blaine, Woodbury & Mankato. What a devastating loss.
Bonfire Wood Fire Cooking published the following statement on their website:
Dear Bonfire Community,
On March 17th, we closed the doors to the Bonfire Restaurants, to protect the health of our team, and the community. And today, we have reached the exceedingly difficult decision that the Bonfire legacy will come to an end.
As you know, the future of hospitality is incredibly uncertain and over the past month, we have tried our best to navigate this uncharted territory. We have explored multiple paths to emerge triumphant at the end of this pandemic, but there’s just no way for us to support the financial weight of our company and the building we call home. We were already walking a fine line before COVID-19 and given that no one knows how long the impacts of this pandemic will last, or what the new normal will be, we do not see a viable path forward.
We cannot express the amount of sadness that fills our hearts, but we are also overcome with the sincerest gratitude. It has been a privilege for you allowing us to be a part of the community for nearly twenty years. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your family, whether it is joining you in your holiday festivity or birthday celebration we joined in the memories with you.We hope we created a place where everyone could put your cell phones down and reconnect with your family and friends and where everyone felt comfortable.
We cannot thank you enough for the opportunity for making all this possible for the last 20 years. For all unused gift cards, they still can be used at all three Axel’s locations, and promotion you may have missed during our separation will be honored for the first two weeks after Axels reopen. As well as all of your loyalty points will be transferred to the closest Axels location to your home Bonfire.
We must not forget, to the heart of the company, our team members. From the hosts, that greet you with a smile to our servers, bartenders’ cooks, dishwashers and the managers making sure the restaurant keeps running we could never have done any of this without all of you. It has been our privilege to be in your company and we believe in your ability to overcome these unprecedented challenges. As this chapter closes end of our book, we cannot wait to see what new stories there are to tell by all of you out there.
Thank you again, everyone, for your endless support. We will miss welcoming you through our doors but hope to see you again soon.
With all of our love,
The Bonfire Family
