Advocates for Illegal Immigration Plan to Protest at Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s Office in Minneapolis

Organizers of a late September protest are calling to defund ICE while demanding legalization of DACA, TPS and DED recipients.
Minneapolis, MN - Activists and advocates for illegal immigration are planning to protest outside of former presidential candidate Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s [D-MN] office later this month. They are calling to defund Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and demanding legalization of *DACA, *TPS and *DED recipients.
The protest, organized by Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC) and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN), is scheduled to take place the evening of Sept. 30th - outside of Sen. Klobuchar’s office in South Minneapolis.
Participants are planning to march to Sen. Klobuchar’s office and demand that she, “take leadership in getting the U.S. Senate to pass the Clean Dream Act” which would grant legalization status to all DACA, TPS and DED recipients. Organizers are concerned that, “Immigrants are under constant attack. DACA, TPS and DED are in the crosshairs of the anti-immigrant politicians.”
Also on their list of demands:
• Defund Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
• Decriminalize illegal immigration.
• Eliminate all criminal charges for unauthorized entry into the U.S.
• End “separation of families” and “caging children in border camps”.
• Eliminate “Permanent bars for re-entry and for false claim to citizenship”.
